I'm sure you could get someone to do it for less than the cost of the thread. This pattern is free, the poster is very gracious to gift it to us and it's not reasonable to expect someone to do that much work for you when it's so easy to learn how to read charts. Plus if she makes a written pattern she should start charging, which is totally understandable but I'm glad she hasn't!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-306255246322027639.post-73688198365716334522021-08-22T03:56:53.865+01:002021-08-22T03:56:53.865+01:00Worse directions ever.Worse directions ever.Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02781799469748062173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-306255246322027639.post-73069046203115500182021-08-21T12:21:28.049+01:002021-08-21T12:21:28.049+01:00Can someone please change the hyrogliphs to a writ...Can someone please change the hyrogliphs to a written pattern. You can look at the pics of the finished dresses to see. It's not hard, just wing it. Where you place them/start tapering is up to your gauge, your body, where you want the waistband to sit, so just hold it up to yourself as you go along and see. You can also just copy exactly what they did in the finished pictures but it's better to tweak to yourself.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-306255246322027639.post-2553869844211872262021-04-20T07:44:10.176+01:002021-04-20T07:44:10.176+01:00Any clue on how to do the arms and backAny clue on how to do the arms and backAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14321711942308819128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-306255246322027639.post-5305918158201496602021-03-04T07:25:26.506+00:002021-03-04T07:25:26.506+00:00Neckline and armpit trim - do a consistent number ...Neckline and armpit trim - do a consistent number of sc per row/pattern repeat, so the dc gap row is symmetrical for the cord. 8 per row is good. The dc gap row is dc, ch 1, sk 1, dc, ch 3, sk 3 and repeat. If you can't...Written pattern for the top half. If you can't read the chart for the bottom half, try finding a free circular shawl pattern and adapt that. You'd need to change the math for the waistband if you do so. I'd transcribe the skirt pattern but it is a LOT of typing and the pic enlarges just fine. The one slightly weird symbol is a 3 dc puff stitch. Good luck!

Waistband - all sc, however wide and long as you’d like. If you want the criss cross effect you can sew chain onto it or learn terrace stitch. Make this first, or as you see in one of the pics skip it and just do a ch to start with. You are going to want to do some math with the pattern repeats for the top and the pattern repeats for the skirt to make sure they both match up. For example the top pattern repeat is 9 st, the skirt is 17 st, so the waistband ideally has to be divisible by both 9 and 17. More or less. There is wiggle room, you can mess with a few extra st, it will look fine. Use your gauge to figure out how long it needs to be and find the best closest st count. 153 stitches works really nicely but may be too small or large for you. Like, 170/17 is fine, but 170/9 = 18.89. Might be close enough though, if you scatter the extra stitches here and there. I had some extra stitches in my waistband at the middle back and it’s not noticeable. I didn’t do the math to begin with, oops!

Top: pattern is as follows, but the shape is up to you.

Ch 3
*Sk 2
Dc 1
Ch 2
Puff stitch with 2 dc into 1 st
Ch 2
Dc 1
Sk 2
Dc
Dc*
Repeat * to *.

Personally I could have just done a vertical opening for the top but the written pattern is raked back, reducing a little bit every row. You can wing this, it’s a bit different in the chart for each row.

After 8 rows or however long it takes to reach your armpit, start tapering it in toward the center at the armpits too, to make an armhole. About 10 rows up your top should be the width of the straps, about 2 shells/motifs/whatevers wide.

The back is similar except there’s no split in the middle and it goes up much higher, say 16 rows then sl st across the middle top to make a neckline and taper a little the next couple of rows to make it as wide at the top of the straps as the front.
Sew the front straps to the back straps.

Trim:
Sc 3 rows
ch 2 Sk 2 dc ch 4 sk 4 dc or something like that all the way around.
Make a cord of ch and then sl st the whole length or I-cord if knitting or use ribbon or similar.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-306255246322027639.post-82147244169732892292021-03-03T16:22:59.493+00:002021-03-03T16:22:59.493+00:00And thank you to the designer and owner of the web...And thank you to the designer and owner of the website, a lovely gift to us all to have this pattern available, especially in pandemic times, thank you!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-306255246322027639.post-65646921880486969072021-03-03T16:20:25.333+00:002021-03-03T16:20:25.333+00:002700 meters #10 crochet thread, 1.65mm hook, 106cm...2700 meters #10 crochet thread, 1.65mm hook, 106cm waist, 15 shells long skirt, pattern easy to follow just make the top however makes sense to you, it's stretchy and will work out if you try on as you go, don't get over stressed about it, it's very forgiving. If you can't figure it out substitute in a different free top pattern that's easier for you. It's very much worth learning to read charts if you can, it is much easier than you'd think.
