Tunisian double crochet stitches add a touch of texture to this simple pattern and produce a soft, bobbly fabric.

Tunisian Double Crochet (Tdc): Yo, insert hk into vert bar of next st, yoand pull lp through st, yo and pull through 2 lps, leaving last lp on hk.

Ch an even number of sts.

Row 1 (RS) Fwd: Pull up lp in 2nd ch from hk and ea ch across. Rtn:Yo, pull through 1 lp on hk, *yo, pull through 2 lps on hk; rep from *to end.

Row 2 Fwd: (Lp on hk counts as 1st st.) *Tdc in next st, Tps in nextst; rep from * across to last st, Tss in last st. Rtn: Work off lps as normal.

Row 3 Fwd: (Lp on hk counts as 1st st.) *Tps in next st, Tdc in next st;rep from * across to last st, Tss in last st. Rtn: Work off lps as normal.

Rep rows 2 and 3 to desired length.

Last row: *Tdc in next st and pull through lp on hk, Tps in next st and pull through lp on hk; rep from * across to last st, Tss in last st and pull through lp on hk. Fasten off.
