MATERIALS • 3 (3, 4) 3/2oz/100g skeins (each approx 224/205m) of Patons Paradiso (cotton®) in #6455 pink (MC) 4 (5, 5) 14oz/50g balls (each approx 116yd/106m) of Cotton DK (cotton®) in #6302 cream (CC) • One pair size 6 (4mm) needles

GAUGE 22 sts and 32 rows =4"/10cm in garter stripe st using size 6 (4mm) needles. 

TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE. STITCH GLOSSARY SI2b-p1-p2sso SI 2 sts tog purlwise tbl onto RH needle, p1, pass both sl sts tog over the p1. Sl2b-k1-p2sso SI 2 sts tog knitwise tbl onto RH needle, k1, pass both sl sts tog over the k1.

Garter Stripe Pattern *With MC, beg with a p row, work 8 rows in St st. With CC, k 4 rows; rep from * (12 rows) for garter stripe pat.

BACK With CC, cast on 101 (111, 121) sts. K 1 row. Change to MC and work in lace pat st for 16 rows. Cont in lace pat as foll: *Work row 1 with MC, rows 2-5 with CC, rows 6-16 with MC; rep from * once more. Work row 1 with MC, rows 2-5 with CC. Then cont in garter stripe pat until piece measures 10"/25.5cm from beg, end with 2nd rep of garter stripe pat.

Armhole shaping Bind off 5 (6, 7) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Next row (RS) K1, k2tog tbl, work to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. Next row (WS) P1, p2tog, p to last 3 sts, p2tog tbl, p1. Cont to dec 1 st each side every row 1 (0, 2) times more, every other row 0 (2, 2) times-85 (91, 95) sts. Work even until armhole measures 72"/19cm.

Neck and shoulder shaping Next row (RS) Work 32 (35, 37) sts, place center 21 sts on a holder, join 2nd ball of yarn and work to end. Cont to shape neck, binding off 2 sts from each neck edge 4 times. From each shoulder edge, bind off 8 (9, 10) sts twice and 8 (9, 9) sts once. 

FRONT Work as for back until armhole decs are completed and armhole measures 4 (1, 14)"/2 (2.5, 3)cm. Neck shaping Next row (RS) Work 24 (27, 29) sts, place center 37 sts on a holder, join 2nd ball of yarn and work to end. Cont to work both sides at once until same length as back to shoulders. Shape shoulders as for back. 

SLEEVES With CC, cast on 81 sts. K 1 row. Change to MC and cont in lace pat for 16 rows. Cont in lace pat as foll: Work row 1 with MC, rows 2- 5 with CC, rows 6-16 with MC, row 1 with MC, rows 2-5 with CC, then cont in garter stripe pat, AT SAME TIME, inc 1 st each side every 6th row 7 times-95 sts. Work even until piece measures 6"/15cm from beg, ending on same row as back armhole

Cap shaping Bind off 6 sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st (as for back) each side of next 4 rows. Dec 1 st each side every other row 6 times -63 sts. Bind off loosely.

NECKLINE INSERT With CC, cast on 41 sts. K 1 row. Change to MC and work lace pat rows 1-16. Bind off loosely.

FINISHING Block pieces to measurements, pinning out edges to form points as in photo. Sew right shoulder seam. With CC, pick up and k 42 sts from one side of front neck, 37 sts from front neck holder, 42 sts from other side of neck, 11 sts from back side of neck, 19 sts from back neck holder and 11 sts from other side of neck162 sts. K 1 row. Bind off knitwise. Sew other shoulder seam. Sew lace insert into neckline. Sew sleeves into armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams.
