Pattern Overview & Assembly Layout
This garment is worked from the bottom up in pieces (or in the round up to the armholes) featuring a textured lace body, voluminous balloon sleeves with fitted ribbed cuffs, and a wide, soft fold-over cowl collar.
1.Back & Front Panels: Worked from the bottom ribbed hem upward using the Graphical Chart of Lace Pattern.
2.Sleeves: Started with a snug 1x1 ribbed cuff, followed by rapid increases to create loose, puffy balloon sleeves before shaping the cap.
3.Cowl Collar: Picked up around the neckline and knitted loosely with large needles to achieve an elegant drape.

Step-by-Step Instructions
1.Back & Front Panels (Make 2)
* Ribbing: Cast on required stitches on smaller needles. Work 1x1 ribbing (k1, p1) for 2–3 inches (5–7 cm).
* Body: Switch to larger needles and follow the Graphical Chart of Lace Pattern (repeating the 7-row pattern repeat as indicated). Continue until desired length to armholes is reached.
* Armhole & Shoulder Shaping: Bind off stitches for armholes and continue in pattern up to shoulder height.
2.Sleeves (Make 2)
* Cuff: Cast on stitches on smaller needles for a fitted wrist. Work 1x1 ribbing for 2.5 inches (6 cm).
* Main Sleeve: Switch to larger needles and increase stitches evenly across the first row to double the width. Work in the lace chart pattern until full sleeve length. Bind off loosely.
3.Garment Assembly & Cowl Neck
* Seaming: Join shoulder seams and side/underarm seams using a tapestry needle.
* Cowl Collar: With larger needles, pick up stitches evenly along the neck opening. Work in loose stocking/garter pattern or wide ribbing for 8–10 inches (20–25 cm) to allow the collar to fold over gracefully.
4.Finishing
* Weave in Ends: Secure all yarn ends neatly on the WS.
* Blocking: Lightly steam or wet-block the sweater to open up the mohair lace pattern and set the finished dimensions.
